General
Information: The Devils Castle traverse requires a fair amount of scrambling with major exposure. There is nothing difficult about the scrambling but in several places a fall would be fatal. Navigation for this route is easy. Mountain goat are often visible while hiking Devils Castle if you keep your eyes open and look for them. If you wish to visit the summit of Sugarloaf Peak than add an extra 30 minutes to your hiking time. Since 11,051' Sugarloaf Peak is the 13th highest peak in Salt Lake City this is a good time to tick the summit off your peak baggers list. The trailhead is accessible to all vehicles in good weather. Excellent camping is available at the Albion Basin Campground, which is located at the trailhead. There is a campground host on site. Restrooms and drinking water are provided. Both reserved and first come, first serve sites are available. Reserve America handles on-line site reservations.
