As with many canyons the route has changeable weather, questionable anchors, frequent bushwhacking, bewildering route-finding and the exit is extremely tedious. In short, this canyon is everything you could ever ask for.

Boundary Canyon is a unique and charming technical slot canyon. The technical section of canyon begins at the boundary of Zion National Park and if you haven't figured it out yet that is how the canyon received its name. The canyon is not identified on any official map.

Boundary Canyon is a refreshing, lush and green slot canyon that is worth the effort to visit. This canyon offers several route options that allows the canyon to be experienced in a single day or extended into a phenomenal two day adventure.

Boundary Canyon is part of the "Circle of Friends" program. Members of the "Circle of Friends" have access to more specific information, explicit route information, GPS waypoints, trailhead location and detailed maps. "Circle of Friends"

General Information:
Boundary Canyon is a technical canyoneering adventure. You will need complete technical gear. Total time required form trailhead to trailhead is 7 to 8 hours to complete the route. A GPS is useful. Good map reading skills are essential. Navigation for this route is moderate. In normal conditions, Boundary Canyon is rated 3A III using the Canyon Rating System. A Zion Backcountry Permit is not required for this route because the technical section is outside of Zion National Park.

Trailhead Information:
The trailhead for Boundary Canyon is located inside Zion National Park. Any vehicle can easily reach the trailhead in dry conditions. A vehicle shuttle is not required to complete this route. A very pleasant campground is located near the trailhead.

Optional Routes:
Several different route options are presented that allow this canyon to be turned into a two day extravaganza or a quick half-day sneak and peak.
