Uinta Mountains

          Visitors who use recreational facilities along State Road 150 (Mirror Lake Highway) are required to pay a use fee. Visitors who do not use recreation facilities, are not subject to fees.

General Information:
           One of Utah's unique treasures, the Mirror Lake scenic Byway winds 42 miles through the Uinta Mountain so the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache national Forest. The Uinta Mountains are an east-west oriented mountain range, a trait shared by only a few mountain ranges in the world. Glacier carved lakes and picturesque U-shaped valleys abound. Recreation opportunities are abundant throughout the year. Camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking, horseback trails, ATV trails, scenic overlooks, snowmobiling, cross-country ski trails, fall colors, and hunting opportunities are all present.

Use Fee Information:
          All passes are fully transferable between the Mirror Lake Highway Recreation Corridor and the American Fork Canyon.

          The following passes are available several locations Kamas Foodtown, Chevron Gas Station, HI Mountain Drugstore, Samak Smokehouse, US Forest Service Office at 50 E. Center St., Kamas, UT 84036, the visitor information booth at Mile Marker 6 on Highway 150, and nine self-serve stations located in various areas along Highway 150.

          1-3 Day -- $6.00 (current as of 2012).
          7-Day -- $12.00
          Annual -- $45.00

          Fees collected go to enhance recreation opportunities and visitor services in the Mirror Lake Highway Recreation Corridor.

          The America the Beautiful (Annual, Age, Access, Military & Volunteer) and Golden Lifetime (Age & Access) Passports are still honored for the full price of the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway Recreation Fee Program Passes. The American Fork/Alpine Loop local pass is also honored at the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway, as long as it is still within the valid date printed on the pass.

Camping:
         
Campground fees are separate. Reservations for campgrounds are to be made on-line at Recreation.gov or use the toll free number at 877-444-6777.
